Antique 1891 Unicorn Double Albert (15 + 3/4")
With the price of gold, and so the price of the big weighty pieces, I'm having to be even more picky with the Alberts I bring you ... they need to be flawless. And this one ... wow. I'm not sure I've ever ticked so many boxes before. She is the kind of Albert that someone who had the pick of every single Albert would go for. So let us run through here qualities:
- The colour of the gold. It is so so so yellow for 9ct Antique. One of the most yellow I've ever seen - there is still warmth - you don't find true yellow in 9ct antique Alberts, but this is very very strong.
- A wearable length - just a shade under 16", she is perfect for capping the stack.
- Clasp game on point. The only thing better than double dog clips imo is one dog, one bolt. And they work perfectly and are original.
- Age. She has date marks that show she was assayed in 1891. Making her 134 years old!!
- Double hallmarks to every single link, in deep and crispy condition.
- To expand on the above, her condition is immaculate. This baby girl has very, very little wear to her and all the links are still fully formed with no thinning.
- Swivel t-bar, perfect for the fiddlers, again with deep and crispy hallmarks.
So if you've been looking to treat yourself, before the gold price gets any crazier here is the investment piece of your dreams. Alberts can be worn 24/7; they become your second skin and in time become your family's heirlooms.
