Chunky Edwardian Double Trombone and Lovers Knot Chain (17.5")
Phewph. I'm just a little excited about this one. I have two favourite silver chains that I've stocked (can you guess the other?) and this is one of them. She is perfect. Where to start?
Chunky weight, fantastic proportions, and phenomenal neck profile. And a really good length!! ✅
All original parts ✅
This is hard to explain but most chains like this with double trombones, the trombone links are soldered together. This one has been designed with hidden brackets that allow a small amount of movement. This is such a rare feature and proof of an exceptional quality chain ✅
There is hardly any wear on the chain, it is like it's been kept in a box for 100 years. No thinning, no distortions. Nothing ✅
Perfect working order double dog clips ✅
Lion Passant on every link. Plus date marks and makers marks ✅
The only small negative in my eyes? She has been over-polished. Some people will prefer this and it will be a feature, but I do like to see more patina on a chain. But never mind, give her a little while and it will wear back in. The dealer was very excited to show me the polish job and I was like .... 😳
